DESCRIPTION:We are hosting a programme of free professional development and creative wellbeing sessions for writers and creatives of colour. Led by members of the Words of Colour team\, with contributions from our partners and associates\, the sessions will be hosted on Zoom and IG Live\, and run between 26 May and 15 August 2020\, covering the following topics: \nConscious Isolation | 26 MAY | Personal Development Consultant Kenny Mammarella-D’Cruz\, provides an opportunity to explore the gift of ‘retreat’ created by the Covid-19 crisis. \nSustainable Design for Social Impact | 9 JUNE | Words of Colour’s Sustainable Designer Ahsan Khan will take you through the basics of design thinking and how to use it for social impact. \nBuild Your Profile on Instagram | 10 JUNE | Jennifer Igiri\, Words of Colour’s Digital Coordinator will help you develop a tailored beginner’s strategy on Instagram to engage with new and existing audiences in a 30 minute 1-2-1 session. \nA Space to Talk & Be | 11 JUNE | Word of Colour’s Director of Creative Wellbeing and People and qualified Psychosynthesis Therapeutic Counsellor Suzanne Lyn-Cook will lead a group session for 10 to discuss Covid-19’s impact and coping methods. \nFinance Clinic for Self Employed Creatives | 18 JUNE | Award-winning accountant and business adviser Shameika Byfield will explore the impact of Covid-19 on entrepreneurs and creatives\, take questions and explain budgeting and contingency. \nBreathe\, Overcome Fear and Nurture Creativity | 6 JULY | Join Patsy Isles\, Words of Colour Associate and Creative Wellbeing Coach\, who will use breathwork and journaling to help you overcome creative barriers and strengthen your respiratory system. \nGain Clarity with Structural Thinking | 13 JULY | Our partner Dr Angela Martinez Dy\, Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at Loughborough University London\, will help you structure your thinking to focus on what is most important to better navigate an ‘always-on’ environment. \nMusic\, Spirituality and Giving Back | 20 JULY | Words of Colour’s Executive Director Joy Francis will be In Conversation with acclaimed DJ\, producer and composer DJ Chillz about making music\, spirituality and giving back during Covid-19. [6-7PM on IG Live] \nReviewing and Interviewing 101 | 29 JULY | Join Heather Marks\, Words of Colour’s Content Editor and theatre reviewer for The Stage\, for tips on reviewing and interviewing for impact. \nBuild Your Digital Presence | 4 AUGUST | Words of Colour’s Web Developer and Design Consultant will help you develop an online strategy for your project and business. \nTime to Reflect | 10 AUGUST | Words of Colour’s Director of Creative Wellbeing and People and qualified Psychosynthesis Therapeutic Counsellor Suzanne Lyn-Cook will provide 1-2-1 sessions on Covid-19’s impact on you personally and identify wellbeing methods. \nSmartphone Filmmaking for Beginners | 15 AUGUST | Join Adrianne McKenzie\, award-winning filmmaker and Words of Colour’s lead videographer\, for a 30 minute 1-2-1 session on smartphone filmmaking for beginners. \nClick on the title of your chosen session to book your free ticket\, or register your interest by emailing us at info@wordsofcolour.co.uk \nPlease note –  tickets will be allocated on a first-come\, first-served basis.
